About
Davood Maeili is a Paris-based photographer whose work blends documentary depth with poetic nuance. His approach to photography is rooted in storytelling—often nonlinear—and shaped by a deep interest in memory, place, and human experience. Drawing from personal narratives and philosophical themes, Davood uses the camera not only to document but to reflect.
One of his ongoing projects captures the atmosphere of southern Tehran’s brick kilns, exploring labor, transience, and forgotten spaces through a sensitive, visual lens. His images often dwell in the spaces between presence and absence, evoking a quiet intensity.
Davood’s photography is both intimate and expansive, seeking not only to show but to suggest, to feel, and to remember.
